With so many beautiful places in Hanoi, it can be difficult to narrow down the most photogenic spots to visit – that’s why we’ve decided to lend a helping hand. From historical landmarks and vibrant flora to streets bustling with local life, these are our top six top picks for getting that perfect shot.

‎1. Tran Quoc Pagoda

Great for capturing: Hanoi’s history

The city is packed with some of the most beautiful Buddhist temples in the world – Tran Quoc Pagoda in West Lake is actually the oldest in Hanoi and better yet, it’s totally free to visit.  Surrounded by beautiful greenery, it’s the ideal spot to chill out, take in the scenery and get that shot. While it’s a great place to visit at any time of day, those with a keen eye for snapping away should definitely visit at night. 10/10 Instagram worthy.

2. Hanoi Ceramic Mosaic Mural

Great for capturing: Hanoi’s art scene

Around 4 miles long, this famous Vietnamese artwork can be found near the Old Quarter and will give you plenty of opportunities for the perfect shot. In fact, its length is so impressive that it even landed a spot in the Guinness World Records in 2010 for being the world’s largest mosaic. But that’s not the only reason it is Insta worthy – taking three years to complete, the colour, patterns and detail are like nothing you’ve seen before. We definitely recommend visiting this artwork during the day so you can see it in its fully-lit glory.

In the city centre, trains trundle along the narrow residential Ngo 224 Le Duan located nearby us in the Old Quarter. Here at 3:30pm and then again at 7:30pm, you will have the opportunity to get a great shot of local life as residents go about their everyday business while a train flies right past them. So visit a nearby cafe, get your camera setup and watch the authentic magic unfold. We can bet you won’t see anything like this anywhere else in the world…
